Best to use one of the DeOxit products (e.g., D5) so that the contacts are cleaned AND lubricated for contact longevity. A cleaner that leaves no residue will allow the contacts to oxidize quickly.

I forgot to add that step in the tutorial, to note the factory didn’t put any amount of contact grease also to note it may have prevented this issue in the first place.

The only reason I said rubbing alcohol was because it fixed other potentiometers but electronics cleaner like CRC’s works well for even sensitive electronics like these ones
