I definitely notice a difference with the trans. I think it's good, but I'm not 100% sure yet as I haven't driven much. I was out for about an hour today. Previously I was getting gaps in the power, almost like a manual sometimes.

I also applied a bunch of updates with the Tech2 and the truck is definitely a little different. Seems all good though, just different. I don't think it's my imagination.

Might pass on the flush for now and maybe just do another pan drop and filter soonish.

That’s what I did, used a screwdriver and hammer to bend the side in then used needle nose vise grips.

There was nothing for me to get on it. I wasn't just being a wuss. I broke a Horror Fraught large pick trying trying to lever it out. But I think that moved it just enough so I could get a small pick on it, and then a screwdriver.

Trans is definitely acting better and not slipping. I'll probably do another pan drop and filter change soon to get the fluid a little fresher.

Thanks for al the help

Instructions say use a screwdriver but I couldn't get behind it without damaging the case.
I've tried a couple small angled picks but getting nowhere. Have a larger one to try.

Any ideas?
dental pick (they also sell them in the auto section )

Not sure that would be strong enough to bend the metal
it's typically made from steel might have gotten one made from zinc or some other weak metal

the one i use is Strong steel (does not bend )to pick out rocks from my tires (no rocks = smoother ride)

also if your going to use picks use safety glasses just incase shit starts flying..

dont be scared of the flush! Im not going to explain it again. Dont remove the pan simply to change 4 qts of fluid. Let the trans pump the fluid out for you. You allready did everything you could inside the pan so leave it be. Youtube "GMC trans flush" and watch how easy and effective it is.

I'm not afraid of it. But I can change 4qts, clean the magnet and change the filter if I drop the pan! Hasn't had much maintenance. Not too many miles but plenty of years.

Did want to report that after driving it a few times now the shifts have really smoothed out.
