So ive been looking into my options for more power. I already have a few bolt ons like an intake, exhaust, and throttle body. I think its time to go big or go home now. Im very interested in the HT383e. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this motor? and i see it is about 5 grand yikes! would it be worth it to build a new motor with the same specifications as the HT383e? or do i just shell out the money for the whole motor. and, this is prolly a stupid question, but is there anyone selling this motor that is willing to finance it? haha

there's a 383 stroker kit on ebay for $1800-$1900. You just need to take the block to get bored out for the bigger pistons. It would be half the price of ordering a new motor

Another step for the block need to be done Is have the lower ends of the sleeves notched for clearance on the rods or crank (?).
Also the 383 needs a smaller Cam Shaft Base Circle (I dunno what that is)
but something else to clear .

yep, it's more than just boring, you have to notch the block for the rods bolts. And MAY need a small base circle cam.

How mechanical are you? That will answer your question(s). By the time you buy all the parts, have the machining done and get it out and in the truck with all other misc. parts. Cost in my opinion will be close. Call around for the HT383E. I got it from a chevy dealer I knew for $4000. It is a nice stoudt motor. A 4 bolt main and a direct replacement for the old 350. I highly advise a custom tune to bring it to life though. Mine puts about 267HP and 397/tq to the wheels. I DD this truck and like I said I am pleased. Not the highest HP motor out there, I would love to squeeze more out of it but until I get a new burb, that will not happen. The torque is great. people are always impressed with the performance and sound of the truck.

I actually just bought some gears for the truck to see if it helps. I picked up a set of 4.11s from jegs. I need the front gears now. Where can i pick those up from?

and i would consider myself very mechanical i guess lol
