I Broke My Fuel PUMP HOSES

I drop the Gas tank. my first gas tank i ever remove from any car/SUV.

Well there is 3 fitting on top of the FUEL PUMP. there is letter on TOP of it.. one is R ( i think its meaning is RETURN FUEL) the other is F (i think it means FUEL Forward)

I broke the R fitting.

If you look at the image. i broke the far far left .. is not the one where fuel goes to the engine.. i belive the one i broke is just a fuel return and its not a big deal..

my question is.. can i just block that Fitting with some kind of a putty to close it off. and redirect the Hose back to another fitting which drop what ever fuel back into the gas tank...

hope i make sense.

I did the same on my Hoe when I dropped the tank, apparently its pretty common problem. I've been working on cars for 10 years, not just you. I posted a story about it lol.

You need to replace the whole pump.

You need to replace the whole pump.

Whats the whole purpose of that broke FITTING ON MY fuel pump??? i have follow/trace that fitting which i broke and it does not connects to the main hose which has the fuel line is connected to the bottom of the fuel pump..

can you please explain to me what each fitting do? from Left, Middle and Right Fitting.. i don't seem to understand how it work.. all i know the Girth Fitting its fuel going to the engine.. the others i don't seem to understand its function

F should be pressurized fuel, R should be for the return fuel bleed past the fuel regulator and the other should be the vapor line with a rollover valve that comes from the evap canister for vapor containment.

I broke the R Fitting.. when i drop the gas tank.. Seens its no pressure on the R Fitting i should be ok if i modified the R fitting and connect the hose.
