I don't get the attraction of all black, or all dark.

I go back and forth. I had a black 2007 Tahoe Z71. Went badgeless and all LED inside and out. Swapped it back to near stock. Sold it. Bought my gold two-door. Put all new chrome on it and all LED interior/exterior. Removed some chrome. Replaced interior lights back to incandescent today because it felt like a bug zapper inside but left the LED exteriors. Not a fan of full murdered out but I’ve seen some pretty sweet white w/all black trim trucks that I was digging. Worked on a very tasteful burgundy Denali will all black trim and wheels. Covering the chrome on a Denali takes effort.
Is there some reason you just don't run warmer temperature LEDs instead of the incandescents?

I’ve tried a few colors. I could probably try a few more. The biggest reason for replacing them this time was the disco party every time I opened a door. When they start going out, they start flickering.

For me it depends on the platform and the vehicle's color, but I usually try to delete as much chrome as possible. I think it just looks dated and, in most cases, cheap. My NBS Denali will likely retain it's chrome grille, but my wheels, bull bar, head/tail lights, and some interior panels are going black. Hopefully soon I'll be quit being lazy and start filling the handful of dings on this thing and then the whole truck will be going 8555 GM Black....

My wife and I prefer 'Primary' colors instead of 'Champaign' type colors. We have Blue (SRX), Red (CTS), and now Black (Yukon). Our recent purchase of a used 2021 Yukon didn't leave a lot of choices and it happened to be Black - but I like Black + chrome.

I think a lot of folks wind up with a color because it's what's available with desired features rather than holding out / delaying to get an exactly preferred color.

There isn't really just a general discussion area, non model specific and I don't want to post in someone's thread and seem to be pointing fingers.

I've read a number of threads where people want to make everything all black, or all dark colors, inside and out. I've even known people who painted the walls black in their homes. I just don't get it. To me, it makes things dark and dingey and shows dust easily That, and you can't see. You need much more light which is more of an issue in homes than vehicles.

I like light, though not necessarily overly bright. My vehicle interiors have always been light colored. My rooms have always been painted in offwhites or pale colors to reflect as much light as possible. I never have a lot of lights on as an energy saving measure, so light colors make that much easier. I've gotten to where I almost never drive after dark, so interior lighting isn't as important for that, but I have converted all interior lights to LED, so what little there is makes it easier to see if parked inside.

In your dark, dark vehicles, don't you have to run the AC harder? Isn't it unbearable getting in after being parked in an open lot on a hot sunny day?
I was just trying to find images of an all black interior for a 99 tahoe...I dont' think i've ever seen one. You have any links that show some?

Sorry I didn't think to respond to this before... But I have a black truck with black interior -- it's the way it came to me (Black is not my first choice in Texas). That said, I keep the windows cracked when it's parked. I can't remember what they are called, but they sit at the top of the window and allow you to crack it a little without rain getting in. So, having the windows down a little plus the excellent AC of my truck means I really don't have any heat problems. I'd imagine on the SUVs it would likely be okay, because they have more vents than I do. Only the Suburban, Yukon XL, and the Escalade EXT I'd think might take a little more time cooling down, but I don't have a black vehicle like that. The Burgundy and White Suburbans I do have cool down just fine; but they don't have a dark interior either.

I’ve had 5 black Corvettes and 5 black full size SUVs (all gm). I always enjoyed how cool they looked whilst they were clean. Now days, if I hit a butterfly in a black ride, my mind thinks the entire rig looks awful, so no more black for me.
