question for the masses of pretty much everyone in the world who has a newer car than i have (ever) had... what is adaptive cruise control ? from what im gathering... i dont have to hit the brake bc someone cut me off & does 25 in the fast lane & then redo my cruise??? i know there is the + button to go back to last set but then it floors it & with an 07 @ 310k that made me extremenly nervous lol so this concept is hard for me to wrap my head around... forget super cruise i dont even know how that i dont even know... no hands on the wheel what no ... so whats adaptive? am i right? does it work as its supposed to? i mean i gues thats a dumb question. i have never had so many buttons before. ever

& most of yous know i have a thing for the suspension system .. its been the bane of my existence on the 07........ adaptive suspension... i can make it go up & down?

yes and the suspension will (should) go up/down on it's own depending on driving conditions, like while cruising on the highway
some people do not like the adaptive cruise, I personally never use cruise, well maybe....if there is a cop behind me lol

@denalilex adaptive cruise will allow your car to automatically “adapt” to the speed the car in front of you going. Say your going 60 down the road with your cruise set and the car In front of u is going 56 your car will automatically start doing the speed(56) of that car . It’s a nice feature my wife’s Tahoe has it, u gotta watch it tho because it will slam on the brakes if u have cruise set and a car in front of u slows down to turn. U can also go back to normal electronic cruise if u don’t like it. I will say it was nice for a long summer trip we did traveling down I-75.

Re: Adaptive Cruise...a pretty well written description starts at Owners Manual pg. 232 and continues for 9 pages, excerpt below. Not trying to be a smart arse, but ACC has a ton of function, including low speed follow which will briing you to a complete stop in traffic and resume as traffic starts up again...so, I would encourage you to dive in to the OM and learn all it can do. If you regularly drive in stop and go, it is very helpful.

I, on the other hand, hate it on rural 4 lane highways, where I think the vehicle slows down too soon and before I know it I'm 3 secons behind someone in the slow lane, going 10MPH slower than I want to be. Had to teach myself to change lanes sooner...I am getting there.

yea i've found it annoying trying to use on even the slightly busy days with the same complaint.
cruise set in the slow lane no traffic, as you come up to someone it slows you down if you dont pass soon enough, if theres a vehicle in the passing lane and you jump over too soon it slows you down even more to leave room between you and that vehicle, if you wait till it wont slow you down it requires such a large gap that theres likely already more passing cars....and you look like a dumbass while it auto brakes 10 cars back from the car in front of you

to me, the best use of it is on single lane roads where youre just stuck behind someone anyway

I only use the Adaptive Cruise on ours if I am using Super Cruise. Super Cruise will change lanes for you.
