I was wondering too how to get all the fluid out. When I got the truck they filled it with anti freeze . I took it in and apparently they didn't get it all out with the Dex cool in it, it is now brown sludge.

Drain what you can then leave the lower hose slightly loose and run a garden hose full blast into the radiator.

Let it flush out with the heater on and keep an eye on the temp gauge.

That's what I did, and filled it with fresh 50/50 dexcool after

unknown at this time.
prestone has that handy little back flushing kit that helps. problem is you probably could never get distilled water in the completely unless you fill it up with that water to mix it drain it and do it again. maybe twice. or take the time to flush it with distilled water. then with distilled water in the block and a completely empty rad and expansion tank fill it up with dexcools till it tops off out the rad outlet squeezing the upper hose to get bubbles out and coolant in there. then when it wont go anymore put the cap on and heat up the engine making sure your t-stat open and upper hose gets hot. drive it for a bit. as soon as you shut it off add some distilled water to reservoir tank to only minimum line and as you drive and stop each day the level in tank will go down a bit. check and fill only when cold and do so till it is stabilized.
