Ok, I have 20" wheels for summer and need some new tires.

I am fairly new and clueless to the whole "truck tire" scene...been driving cars too long. Anyway, I want some smooth and fairly quiet tires while at the same time having some tread to them because I will inevitably need it at some point. Not all roads are paved and smooth in Alaska.

Also want as big and wide as possible with no rubbing, so size and brand/styles would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nitto Terra Grappler. 305/50/20.

Got 305/55/20's on mine with minimal rubbing.

I just put a set of 275/55/20 cooper discoverer H/T plus tires on my yukon and they are one of the best all around tires i`ve ever used and the price was unbeatable and i think they`re great looking too. Wet traction is great and they did very good in the big snow storm we got last month. I`ll never take my yukon in the mud so i cant say how they work there.

So the Terra Grapplers are pretty smooth and quiet? They look pretty aggresive, which usually seems to equate to more road noise.

My biggest concern is hydroplaning. Freakin' tires that came with the truck are worn out all-seasons that hydroplane on 3 drops of water....it's scary/dangerous getting a 6,000lb truck with my family in it sideways on the highway at 60 mph because we hit a little puddle....
