Hello,

Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge here. I am currently in the process of lifting my 04 Tahoe. I have purchased a rough Country 6" lift and a set of 35x12.50r20's. I am getting ready to order a set of 4.56's for the front and rear, but am a little stumped. I have located my RPO Codes and found I have the GT4. When looking online for a set of Yukon Gears I've noticed there is a 8.5 and an 8.6 axle. Just want to verify this is the 8.5.

The 8.625 was introduced around 1999, you wouldn't have the old 8-1/2 unless someone changed it. The ring and pinion should be the same as the only difference I think is with the carrier bearings.

Thanks guys, I doubt it has been changed. Everything on the thing was stock when I got it. I was sure enough about to buy the wrong ones. As for the front I only see a 8.25 IFS, is this correct also?
