Hey, I have a 2004 Yukon XL 1500. A week and a half ago it would start up fine, then die about 3-5 seconds after it started up. I diagnosed it as a bad ignition switch (not cylinder). I replaced the switch, but it would not do anything when I tried to start it. I removed the switch and adjusted the position of the switch put it back in and it started right up. I drove it for a couple of days and then the windows, locks, radio, door ding stopped working. The next morning the battery was dead. I charged the battery and then it started, but some dash lights stayed on, like they would be if the vehicle was in the on(not started) position. I also did not have any response when I pushed the gas. I thought the switch I got went bad, so I went and got another new one. It started up and I had throttle response, but still no power windows, locks, radio, door ding, or interior lights when you open the door, but the lights work when I hit the buttons. This morning when I got up and tried to work on it the battery was completely dead. I believe my ignition switch isn't in the right position, which is causing the locks, windows and so on not to work, and it is not closing all the way and that is why my battery is dying. Any ideas would be great? I am unable to get any codes from the vehicle because my scanner will not connect. Says Link Error. I hooked the scanner up to my other vehicle and the scanner worked fine.

Thanks for the help.

Update: I was looking some wiring diagrams they showed the DLC was tied in with the power windows and locks. I was testing the DLC and when I checked the purple wire for power, with a multi meter, my radio turned on and the power windows started working, but the engine turned off shortly after that. Now it doesn't want to start, cranks though, and the key will not turn all the way back, so I can't get the key out of the ignition.
