My service air bag light came on a while back and i just installed new impact sensors and that took care of the problem.

I friend just bought a 05 Tahoe, 120,000 miles that the airbag light is on. The seller stated it was the sensor but the dealer wanted $500 to remove the bumper and replace the sensor so it's still on.
Where is the sensor and if anyone knows the part #and cost, that would be great.
If I replace the sensor will the light reset? I don't have a scanner that does ABS.
Thanks....sorry about the hijack...

There is no reason to remove the bumper. I changed both on my yukon in about fifteen minutes. I bought aftermarket sensors and saved a boatload of money over OEM ones and once i changed them the service airbag warning went away.

This shows where they`re located.
