I installed a K&N cold air system onto his Yukon XL Denali and it seems that it slowed down his idle enough to where if you let it idle and barely touch the gas to move the engine dies. Is it because of the K&N or does it need to get used to the filter? Should I go back to the regular air filtration system??

Did you disconnect the battery before the change? May have to reset the PCM. Also, since you had things open, clean the maf and tb?

Many cold air kits do this and the only answer unless there is a problem like a leak is retune it for the mod. The idle and MAF calibration is no longer correct since the upgraded air filter has changed how much the air is actually flowing. Feel free to give us a call if you need any help.

Cheap Cold Air changed to a K&N filter

I ran it this way for the past 3 days and its seemed to tune itself with the intake. The whole story is he purchased the cheap Cold air intake for the Yukon XL Denali with a Cold Air non K&N filter and I thought I would put a real K&N filter on it besides the cheap one that is 8 inches long and has a hard time fitting into the slot given. I replaced the cheap cold air intake filter with a real K&N Filter that's when it started to act up but since I started driving it seems to be getting better. Would it help if I hook up the computer to it and reset the computer so it may take the new K&N Filter?? Would this help?
