Simply, I would like to know of an easy and inexpensive way to increase throtte response. My truck is a 2001 Suburban. 5.3L. Bone stock other than the stereo and rims.

"RIMS" tells me something, it aint stock! I suggest a gear swap, I bet with correct gears, you have too much throttle response. What size are your rims?

The least amount possible at the moment. I dont know how I forgot but I did, my truck has the Flashpaq tuner installed, just the 87 octane setting.

I just don't like that when I put the peddle on the floor the truck hesitates like a *****. My last truck was a 96 ram with the 5.9....that thing just took off. It did have a Fastman TB, K&N FIPK and true duals.

Obliviously my Suburban isn't a hot rod and I don't expect it to be but when I want to get in it....I want to get in it. I don't wanna get passed while I am waiting on my truck to react.

You need a BB tune for sure. Also gears as well. Even thought your rims sit the same height, i bet they are a different weight. Weight is what kills performance, I would over gear the truck just a tad. You may want some 4.10 gears, which is all round great for performance. Then get a BB pcm tune, no handheld ********! The tuner needs to disable Torque Mangement, as well as make PE delay 0 sec instead of about 6 whole seconds before your truck reacts. A custom tune will do wonders.

Maintenance - as in make sure she ius running well. Good place to start would be to make sure the air filter is clean. Also, I had a lot of good luck with a SEAFOAM treatment. Search the forum for a lot of good info on it. Make sure your vehicle is running well before you mod.

CAI - I put an AEM on mine and it really woke up the throttle response from a stop.

Personaly, CAI is about the last mod I would do on my truck. The stock intake box, bottom can be removed, for just as much or more flow than aftermarket. CAI a real functioning one, will only add about 5hp at max. Despite all the hype. Gears is what this guy needs, he can keep his heavy wheels as well. He needs gears IMO as well as a pcm custom tune to wake up the feel on the truck/butt.
