I am actually going to be doing this install real soon. I am just waiting on all my purchases to arrive in the mail :)

I am not entirely sure how I am going to do this install, but I have a good idea as I am using someones directions from another forum to do the install. I have provided links below to the forum posts so you can get a good idea of what to do and where to begin. Please remember that these are NOT my directions or pictures (I am not taking credit for someone else's work).

You may have to make an account to be able to see all of the pictures, but that should not be a big deal. Additionally, I will be happy to let you know how my install goes, but I probably will not get to the install until at least next weekend. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make a "how to", as I simply do not have that much time.

Link #1 (beginning of installation, some background information): http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=12034

Link #2 (running the wires, and hooking up to lockpick): http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=12035

Link #3 (a video of the cameras in action): http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=14476 Or direct link to Youtube HERE

Link #4 (the cameras I purchased - same ones the original poster got): http://cgi.ebay.com/Wide-Angle-150D-Reverse-Night-Vision-Camera-XS-0-8in-/350241058453?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item518bfe6e95#ht_5093wt_1544

Link #5 (the exact size drill bit for the cameras mentioned above): http://cgi.ebay.com/Drill-Bit-11-16in-XS-Nickel-Size-Camera-NEW-/350089514300?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5182f60d3c#ht_3590wt_1141

I hope that helps you to get started. I am excited to do this install. I watched his video that he made (link above) and it looks really good. You can even set it up so the cameras will automatically come on when the turn signals are applied (great for the blind spots). Let me know how it goes, and I will keep you informed about my install. Good luck!!

ChevyFreak,

I have started installing the cameras. I am facing small problem, how to dismantle the side mirrors in order to wire the camera cables using the same mirror cables. I looks that the mirror (after I remove from the truck body) it look difficult to take apart.

I have tried to take the back-cover ,but can not be removed. Then tried to take the mirror itself but again can not be removed.

please advice.

regards,
Nasoor

Are you planning on drilling into your mirror, and installing the cameras that I have provided a link to?

If so, then once you have drilled the hole into the mirror using the exact size drill bit, and doing so exactly as described (there is not much space to work with) then you must remove the mirror from the truck. It will not come all the way off as the cables are attached, but it will give you enough space to work with.

Then, feed the cables through the drilled hole and follow the route of your existing mirror cables back into the truck. I then reattached the mirror, but didn't yet secure the camera into the predrilled hole. It is important to have everything hooked up, and tested before you push in and secure the cameras. Also, make sure the image (again by testing) is not upside down. I had to turn mine around to get the image facing the correct way.

I hope that clarifies the process a little for you. If you need any other information at all, I will be happy to assist you! I just need to know exactly what products you are working with.
