Whats up TYF.

Haven't posted or been lurking for a while, but today I decided I'm gonna install a CB radio. The plan is to install it to the existing tape deck spot since it is non-operational since I installed my new stereo.

Much like this guy's install.

I plan on wiring it up so I don't have to use one of my DC plugs.

Has anyone done this on their ride before? Any pointers or suggestions you could offer?

Thanks

what kind of CB is it because the uniden radios my dad always had the speaker was on top of the radio so mounting it in that tape decks slot mite significantly muffle that speaker

now that you bring it up when i get my suburban all apocalypse ready i think i mite throw in a CB maybe even a ham radio i think they would come in handy when your roaming the wasteland

Well shieeeet. I was looking at the Uniden pro520xl

The radio is thinner than the tape deck slot so if the speaker is on top it might resonate and amplify the speaker. Similar how putting your smart phone in an empty glass amplifies the speaker.

Or it might just muffle it and ill have to move it

So just get a external speaker and put it under the dash. Like above your feet/legs...
