I am trying to install my sub and amp that I took from my 2002 4runner to my 2007 Tahoe.

The sub is a Polk Audio 12 inch. The amp is a Kicker ZX750.1

Is it possible to use my 12 volt accessory power outlet in the trunk of the Tahoe to power the amp/sub so I wouldn't have to run a line all the way up to the battery?

Also, If anyone can either link me to a previous thread or explain the install on my Line Out Converter Axxess AX-ADCT2 to my stock head unit setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have my friend who practically takes his jeep apart helping me but would be a lot better if I got advice from a Chevy owner.

You will have to run a power wire. That outlet doesn't have near the wire thickness running to it to safely power an amp.

I'm not trying to be funny when I say this, but if you're asking those kinda questions, it might be best to leave it to a professional.

LOL...that was a joke right?

Like Jax said, if you have to ask, ask a pro to install it

Meh, it's a simple enough job and a good learning experience. Remember, experience is the best teacher. But it can also be the cruelest. Research basic stereo and car wiring, ask questions, and be sure you have a well thought out plan before starting. This will keep the magic smoke in the amp and you from starting an electrical fire.

seriously, let a professional do it. its not worth burning down your brand new truck. my friend in high school had his truck burn to the ground because of bad wiring.

its not very hard at all to do, but small simple things make all the difference. maybe a nearby member will be nice enough to help you out for a case of beer or something. if your in the san antonio area feel free to send me a pm

While I understanding what you're saying, I wouldn't risk a $20k (or more) vehicle to do the install on my own if I was asking how to install a LOC or trying to power an amp from my cig lighter wires.

BTW, I've done car a/v for 15+ years as well as a few years of home a/v & automation. I'm not saying we weren't all beginners at some point, but with those questions I would truly leave it to a professional. Even maybe asking to watch and learn a little from him.
