similar issue
I've had similar problems with my 4x4 switch for years, and its always switched drives fine. Although in the last year I've developed switching problems, in that I can switch from 2wd to 4wd or awd fine, but can't switch back till I turn the truck off and start it back up, then I can switch it back to 2wd.
I have changed the transfer case switch motor, but its still doing it. Any thoughts? will a bad switch cause this? Mechanically everything works fine when it goes from 2wd to 4wd and back (no clunk, jerks, or grinding). So I'm thinking this has to be electronic.
