Yesterday my amp started to smoke up and sparks were coming out of the wires in my hifonics amp. Will this blown my subs too? and then I opened up the amp and saw those 4 big circle things that looks like alotta copper wires are wrapped together with melted plastic all over it. So does my amp still work? it powers up tho with no sound.

Sorry to say I cant answer anything about whether your Sub is blown... However...

...alotta copper wires are wrapped together with melted plastic all over it. So does my amp still work?
Holy shit... Smoking and sparks... Even if it did work - Would you want to still use it? Just waiting to catch fire and cause more damage..

I saw hifonics and that's all I needed to see. That thing is donezo. No clue what would cause it to do that, but it's only time before it'll catch your car on fire

Could be a Grounding issue.

I had that in my 95 Yukon after having a new unit installed. Took it back to the place (As I lack the tech know-how) and it is what they told me was.

I'm sure smarter people will be able to give you better info.

hifonics are like the godzilla of amps. if they fall, they make a mess. switch out your amp. I doubt your subs are blown because you would smell electricity coming. but to be safe, pull them out of the box and inspect them. the whine with the rpm is more of a wire issue. if the RCA's arent isolated from the power wire or ground, they pick up interference from anything. If your RCA is already isolated, i recommend buying rockford fosgate double wrapped RCA's. I use them and pick up no whine at all.

for the whining noise with the RPMs do you by any chance have your rca cable running along with the power wire ?if thats the case you need to run the RCA on the other side. also make sure you have good grounding points.

I think it could be the power wire and RCA being together. But I will take it apart to take a look at it when the new amp comes. Pics will be up soon!
