Update

OK all...

Here is th final report !

The rear axle assembly WAS BENT. How the heck they did that, I don't know.

My son was driving it in the neighborhood and the left axle slid right out also. Like there was no C-clip in there. It didn't break, the axle was fully in tact, just had the splines roughed up a bit as it slid out through the tube and smashed up against the bearings. When I opened the diff cover, I did not see a clip in there, but could have came out with fluid and I did not realize it.

I called the salvage yard and they were saying that there was no way that it just came out, and that we must have broke it. When I got there Saturday morning, they saw that it was in tact and said OK, put it over there and I have another for you. I then compared the two and obviously saw that the one pulled out was bent compared to the other replacement thay had waiting for me. I replaced the axle seals and I know for a fact that the clips are in there, the pin is in and the rear is full of fluid with a bottle of posi fluid.

I hope this is good for a while !

BTW, my tires are ruined from the 350 some miles put on that rear end, as the insides are wore flat out from the bent axle.

Thanks for all the inputs !

Doesn't Matter
Now that you got good stuff under your truck hopefully you're good to go from here on out. At least it sounds like the junk yard was cool about it.
