Before last weekend when EVERYTHING was stolen out of my truck (sub, amp, nav, tools, handgun, dvds, ipod, etc.), I ran this...I'm not into the slamming bass thing, just wanted some good quality lows. I powered it with a polk audio mono amp. Very pleased for the price.

How did they get in?

Smash n grab, or artfully done?

Where were you parked?

What time of day or night?

What would you suggest to those of us with similar vehicles to possibly reduce the risk?

They knew what they were doing...

Never realized how much plastic surrounded that lock cylinder...so easy to get in

Very little damage to the dash, one cracked panel which is pretty impressive given the gear shift was in park (blocking dash panel). Unplugged almost everything carefully, leaving only a hand full of trashed wires (park brake override for movies, and a few others)

Parked outside of a body shop that was replaving my rear bumper after I was rear ended...I'm convinced it was an employee. Still waiting for them to give the security tapes up.

Not sure of the time of day...sometime between 6pm Friday and noon the following Monday.

As far as reducing risk...not sure. This was at a body shop with no history of break ins, in a nice part of town, sitting in front of a fixed position security camera...don't know how it could get any safer than that.

Going to tint my fronts after I reinstall a stereo.

Not to sure what your looking to do with your system but with your budget in mind there are better quality subs out there.

I ran one one of these in a 12 and the sound quality for all types of music was amazing even in a ported box let alone the ability to just get stupid loud.

I thought I would be able to come up with a few more options, but the ones I've seen are mainly for SPL setups.

MOL,

Thanks for the picture. You can take it down now if you like, so as not to give anyone any ideas! While some people obviously already knew that trick, I wasn't one of them. I've saved it, so I can show the boss, in order to get budget clearance for doing something to prevent this.

Have you heard of Jimmy Jammers?

WhiteEscaladeJJ.jpg

The intrusion in the photo above is slightly different than yours, in that the *********** was underneath the plastic handle, rather than through the plastic handle. However, I wonder if the same product is an effective cure for both type of intrusions?

The metal piece appears to cover the area of both an all plastic poke, as well as a beneath the plastic poke. However, I wonder if having this Jimmijammer installed would end up meaning MORE DAMAGE would be done, as the thief keeps poking around making more of a mess when his technique is not working as expected?

As for tinting the windows, I've considered the same thing, even with the factory radio, that is NAV. It is sad that we feel forced to break the law ourselves, in order to discourage others from breaking the law.
