Day 13: Front '74 Wagoneer Dana 44 taredown!

Breaking front dana 44 down so I can order parts. Undecided if I will do a Detroit Locker for her or keep it mild since my wife wont be doing in rock crawling.
So I might do 4.10 gear ratio,3.92 and up carrier set with the chromoly axle shafts. Bearings, seal, races and so forth.

One major thing about the front axle hubs is, They are currently a 6 bolt lug. I have to convert it to a 5x5.5 so it will have the CJ bolt pattern for a wide variety of wheels.

To do that, I have to swap all spindles and hubs from my dana 30 which will bolt right up. And use the Waggy calipers and caliper brackets.

Now that I have it all broke down to this point. Pop those 4 bolts off, take out carrier and bearings(keep spider gears for the new carrier) and then send housing off to powdercoat.
Next I will get my full parts list together and break down the ScoutII rear dana 44 so I can get those axles swapped, rear carrier, gears and so forth as the front. As you know the gears have to match front and rear.

:)

Just giving a quick update. Got everything ready and waiting for back ordered parts for the D44's. Not much to see or take pics of. It gets a little redundant when the parts and part numbers in one rearend is like memorizing the dictionary[emoji57]
Got my rear disc conversion figured out and waiting waiting waiting on parts.
