Hey guys! First of all, this forum is FULL of answers. I'm new here but loving it.

Ok, so first thing's first. My new purchase.

I bought a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71. It has 269,000 miles on it. This was purchased from a high end mechanic here locally that is close friends with my boss. He bought it for his 15 year old son, replaced every single thing it seems so his son won't have break downs when he is able to drive. Well, his son got into a bunch of trouble so he decided to sell it. He actually gave me receipts for all of the parts, which I can share the list later if we find it relevant.

So, the primary purpose of this vehicle is a comfortable ride with plenty of room for our road trips. I have 2 (sometimes 3) teenagers and myself. We go camping regularly and go to Florida a couple times a year. I don't plan on doing a bunch of mod's or crazy stuff like I would have if I was still a teenager. Here are the few things I have done:

1) Replaced Low-beams with LED's
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072QQZ8JR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2) Replaced High-beams with LED's
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VNBDOV2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1

3) Replaced Fog Lights with LED's
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SZK19XY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

4) Replaced Turn Signals with LED's
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HJDI22E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

5) Replaced Daytime Running Lights with LED's
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VKXC5K4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

6) Replaced all my my interior, license plate and mirror courtesy lights with LED's (i had to buy a few extra bulbs that were not in the kit)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HRSTP1S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

7) There was an extra light next to the front turn signals that I replaced with an LED

8) Ordered (not here yet) tail light assembly. Not the best looking one, but beats the stock.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0085NS538/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

9) Replaced head unit
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079GT7BNW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1

10) Installed alarm and remote start
I had this installed at Best Buy. I don't have the link of the exact device handy.

11) Blacked out my windows

12) Installed a mod that allows all 6 lights (high/low/fog) to be on at the same time
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019JDFGEI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also bought little things like storage for the inside, devices to hold the ipads and stuff like that.

So, what I'd like to do in the future is to buy an after market flip down screen, but since that is where my climate controls for the rear are, I'm going to need to buy a middle console with the controls in there. Is this a hard task to accomplish? Expensive? Anyone have experience with such a task?

Any other thoughts or advice?

Thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll have a ton more questions later.

Thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll have a ton more questions later.

If you're interested, I have a brand new, still-in-the-box Boss flip-up 7" touchscreen unit, with Bluetooth and USB, also plays DVD's. Got it as a gift, but I don't want to replace my JVC unit.

New on E-bay, they are anywhere from $125 to $180. I'd take $115, shipped anywhere in the US.

And I've also got the Fleece All-on module, love it! There's a shit-ton of other guys on here who also have it.

I know there are a million posts about LEDs and countless videos online, but I'll ask since you've just recently done it. I see a bunch of posts about needing the projector housings for the LEDs yay/nay. Did you just drop these in the stock housings and if so - are you happy with the results? Are you blinding people on the road (i.e. people flashing you).

Thanks,

CB

How do you like your head unit? I've been curious about those Chinese android units for the past year or so

So the ones I bought came with the little fans and connectors or whatever. Pretty much plug and play. I LOVE them! I expected every car to bright me, but honestly, it's few and far between. I guess most people are getting used to LED's or something. But, man are they bright!

I'm still leery about it, but I'm loving it. For the price it offers every possible thing I would want. I need to learn more about it and play with it. Most Android apps work on it, but a few do not. ie: Netflix, DirectvNow, etc. It's super super cool.

My biggest complaint..... and you'll see this isn't a big deal for most people.... is for it to auto connect to my hotspot when I start the truck. And truth is, that may be my iPad, not the head unit. Not sure.

I'm also curious to how it will work with multiple screens in the back.

Overall so far, this thing is awesome!

I have hyperflashing. I think it's the turn signals so I ordered load resisters. I hope that helps. Advice?
