Just noticed this tonight.... guess I am going to change that too. Could be the issue with the "battery not charging" that I noticed the other day that was really loose cables... which the positive cable still feel loose so a cable may be in order...

What is this big 3? I haven;t read through the forums completely guess I will have to do some homework. I have heard people adding a 2nd battery as well may read about that too as I have another battery out of the decommission 93 burban that is fairly new

This will be on the to list... Not that i am going to be adding a high power audio system anytime in the near future, but since I am a ham radio operator I see a need...

The Big 3 can be beneficial even if your truck is 100% stock. Over time, wires can lose conductivity for a variety of reasons. Heck, in my truck I notice my headlights dim momentarily when I hold the window up button after they are closed. That tells me there is a pretty significant drop in voltage across my system and I probably need better positive and ground cables under the hood.

However, as a fellow HAM operator I completely agree with your assessment

So.. I've done the big 3 or maybe big 5 upgrade to both the 05 Tahoe and 01 Yukon. This made the Yukon very happy. The Tahoe however still has a 14.xxV to 12.xxV drop when the window switch is activated. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I thought about tearing into the window switch and re-grounding everything - that my only hope or is there something easier like a write-up somewhere for this issue?

Lighting, whether automotive or residential is sensitive to voltage drop. Power supplies in electronic devices have regulators that compensate for voltage drop in the power supply, before the juice gets to the rest of the audio or other device. That is why you don't see any change in your television when your heat pump starts, but your lights may blink at home. The same process works pretty well in cars.

So, I believe that good quality power cables with clean connections are important. The above picture would not show a good connection. Beyond that, only high power amps that draw lots of current need to have upgraded cables.

Thanks Larry. So you believe as well that good quality power cables with clean connections are important. If you have other value to add toward a specific resolution - Most interested in knowing if someone who experienced this issue has successfully resolved it and how.

Does anyone know specifically where the grounds are located for the window switches? These to the BCM?
