K&N Air Intake

I found two different types og K&N Air Intake Systems that will fit my 2003 Tahoe 5,3 LT.
But what is the diffference between these two?

KNN-77-3023KP

and

KNN-57-3023-1

And will both fit?

The 77 has more steel in it I believe, causing it to heat up. It looks better, preforms better than stock, but is actually half as effective as the 57 (Increase of 7-8 HP instead of the 15 HP seen by the 57 Series). I don't have either, but I have undergone the same research to conclude that I want the 57. If you plan on showing off the exterior more than what's under the hood, 57 series all the way.

Oh, and yes, those will both fit.

I agree with 06MC5.3L, but it all depends on the person. My buddy hates my MIT because it doesnt look at "cool" as an open filter. He would rather loose some HP to have it look nicer under the hood.

I will say tho, I wouldnt ever pay for anything K&N. It is WAY over priced and usually the quality is not that of other brands.

If you want the look of K&N and want to pay under $160 look at spectre air intakes. I know you can buy them at my local autozone for about $150. I love my airaid jr MIT kit and really like the closed box.

There are SynthaMax and SynthaFlow MXP and CAD systems. But I have no idea what the difference is between them.

The pics and description explain each. syntha max is the drop in filter. Cad is an open box. mxp is open box with ram air tube. The best in my opinion is the airaid junior. Look for it on advanced auto parts website. Google coupon code and u can save $50. I think I paid 129 for Jr kit with filter shipped to my door.

It does not matter anymore. Summit Racing has already shipped the K&N system.
