i have been a long time fan of K&N, so that is my choice for a new intake, but i was wondering which to get? the 57 (FIPK) series or the 77 series... the FIPK has a .2 HP advantage (nothing to write home about), so i was wondering if you helpful gals and gents could give me some advice? thanks!

EDIT: I did some research online, and the verdict i found is that the 77 series is more for looks than for performance... it's chrome metal tubing allows for more heat to enter the incoming air, while the black plastic of the FIPK is a bit more heat resistant, although their HP increases are extremely close... and on that note, i ordered one off amazon for $220 with free shipping. ill post pics later when done!

thats what I have and I love it

word of advice
throw some lube on the inside of the rubber on the air filter before you clamp it onto the big aluminum piece...mine like almost bonded itself to the aluminum...

what did you lube it with?

really any thing that will last a while is fine maybe a tiny bit of grease or some wd40 (I just used some of the air filter oil cuz it was right there)

dont get me wrong its not like if you dont put something on it the filter will be welded on there or something but it is nice if you can just slip it on and off rather than having to peel it off with a screwdriver ya know
