Keyless Remote Replacement

I scored me a 98 Tahoe Two Door this week that is in amazing shape. It didn't come with the key fob though. Is there a code I need to know to order one of these?

no just the part number gm 16245105. you enter a programming mode in the vehicle to link it in.

Most any of the correct style will work. Google the keyless entry reprogram feature for 1998 tahoe.
It involves beer, a safety pin, and your fobs...not necessarily in that order.

What if I have barn doors? I prefer the style of the first part number you posted. I bought some on ebay similar to that, in a 2 button remote. Damn things won't program. The part number you posted looks like the old Ford remotes from the 90's.

You're a smart guy, and seem damn knowledgeable guy. Was the 96 available with the factory alarm, or just keyless entry? If it was available with the alarm, what would be the RPO code for that?
