anyone know where the little black box receiver is located?

I got a couple of new remotes with a little black box as part of the deal and I am not sure where to swap out the little box.

Thanks, Todd

Does the box need replaced? My remote died suddenly and wouldn't work with my denali after reprogramming. I bought two new eBay remotes and programmed them and problem solved. If you don't know the programming procedure, google it and try it out before replacing the box. It's simple to do.

Damn, sorry dude. I was thinking the same thing was wrong with mine, but thankfully it was just the remote. I had done a search on google as well, but couldn't find anything. Sometimes if you ask the parts man at your dealership, he may show you a schematic.

Also I think there's a website somewhere that has schematics, but I haven't a clue as to where it is.

Good luck to you, though!

I might have found it buried in the dash to the point where you need to remove IC and have the gear selerctor in the proper position, remove dash vents, remove trim bezel etc.... probably worth it to just order the correct remote for this vehicle and pay the 50.00 dollars or whatever

that or you could install an aftermarket system that will work better and have 20X longer range/better alarm/remote start, sky's the limit. Remote starts and alarms are too easy on these trucks to spend money/time on factory keyless junk.

Make sure they are the right remote. I found out after I got one remote that I couldn't get to program that there are two generations of the remotes. I got one from the correct generation and it programmed the first time. As far as getting a remote, try looking around a junkyard, thats what I did and got mine for free.
