I've been reading on that deleting that AFM cool stuff, what were y'all recommend on cam I don't mind spending a little money on an upgrade
Are we sure your truck has AFM?
If so, Texas Speed has some nice kits with options. After the swap, you’ll want a good tune to optimize the combo.

I know Jasper Engines offers a DOD AFM deleted rebuilt engine, All you need to do is get an aftermarket tune/tuner for it.

Swoth diver I went to AutoZone and got them check

Thank you will be cheaper to get another engine down the long run

Could you also put me in a good post about the 6-speed vs. 8-speed transmission I saw something a while go. Wonder if it's possible

So what codes were thrown?

Anything is possible with enough money, but is it worth the time, money and effort to gain two extra gears from a troublesome transmission?

Haven't spent much time on cam upgrades for 6.2s but I wouldn't go much bigger than the stock camshaft myself.

Whoa, new motor & trans on an 07 is something occurring around 170-290k miles. What you’re describing may be codes being misread.

Recently found that having the plug wire pulled off #7 will turn ON the stabilitrack warning and have the truck run like it’s got a heavy/loppy cam. Your misfire and code needs to be treated like a clue, not a diagnosis.

A bad exhaust gasket will throw a misfire code. It’s likely the truck needs missed, regular services completed. What’s your plug wire history? It’s impossible to see if one or multiple are bad unless you pull them and check for resistance. Pulling them may cause them to fail if their old. Pulling them by the wire or without the tool will cause what you’re experiencing too.

Even a driveshaft that’s out of balance will cause a funky ride. Check out your plug wires at night, ac off and raise rpm slightly. If you see or hear arcing, that’s a sure sign. You could have one or multiple coils on the way out. The easiest way to rule out coil or plug issues is to pull one wire at a time from one coil on start up. Run worse, turn off motor, move to next wire. If a wire or coil pulled causes no change, start there.

You may find a wire that separates completely or no change by pulling a wire. That would be the bad coil or wire(s). You need to team up with a 6.2 veteran who’s got your back, not your wallet.

Indeed. But his truck should not have AFM parts unless it was built before April of 2006. If the valley cover under the intake is flat, he doesn't have it.

Rossen, what are you using to pull codes? Do you have a bi-directional scan tool? Can the scan tool pull up the snapshot showing why P0300 set? Live in Florida by chance?

Can you give the definition of snapshot? So P0300 sets, the code defines the error but how do you isolate it to a specific component? would you compare values with DIYDATA? Im not trying to hijack, just hoping for a better understanding of your TS steps.

The computer stores a snapshot of the engine parameters at the time the code set. These can be used with the shop manual to see what was wrong if nothing was obvious at first.

P0300 is about as vague as a code can get!
