Knock outs for FT end alignment?

So I call a local shop for a FEA after I get these ball joints in, and he asked if the knock outs have been removed yet. Not sure what he is talking about. Can anyone explain what i need to look for. The shop said the lower swing arms have to be removed to do this. (cut the knock outs out)

There are oval holes where your upper control bolts go through the frame. GM doesn't cut them out completely when they assemble the vehicles and these is how they're aligned from factory. You'll need to remove the upper control arm bolts and pull them out of the way and use the tool below to remove the "knock out" section. The package for the tool has a picture that shows you how to use the tool.
