Hey all, just picked up an 05 Z71 and doing some more mods.

I'm wondering if anybody has cut a slot out of the grill and put in a light bar, maybe a 20" right above the bow tie?

Don't really want to add a brush guard, and not a fan of 50" across the top of the windshield.

Has anybody done or seen something similar?

May be a little late, but I have seen a few people around me that just put them inside the grill without cutting it out. Looks...ok.
If you do end up cutting it out and correctly mounting it I bet it would look good.

I've seen that also. I want to try cutting the main cross member in the middle and mounting a bar in that, seen similar on raptors and tacos.

I like the Satoshi style grills but haven't seen one on a Tahoe and don't know how much work it would be.

Did you get this done yet? I just got my 05 z71 and I've been measuring and measuring... looks like a 32" curved bar will fit right in the upper grill section if you cut out the black insert on that section. should fit most bar housings well enough to be flush... I'm nervous but think I might try it...
