On the GMFS Forum he mentioned using Easy Oven off...Do you have to use that? Or can you use a plastic paint remover and a degreaser for dirt and particles?

Not sure about plastic paint remover but here's what not to use.

the gold on the back is more than just paint, it's a foil so I don't know if plastic paint remover would do it. I suppose if the paint remover is safe for plastic you could always try it.

i used the easy off and it worked great, didnt cloud the plastic or anything, only took about 30-40 minutes for the gold paint to come off.

Ok, Cool deal. Making a list of stuff I need to work on the truck this weekend so thats why I asked. Hope to get all the old Emblems off and the front bowtie painted.

BTW, For a midnight blue truck what color should I look for to match? I am assuming something from the Auto Parts because the Lowe's won't have that color.

Do any parts stores in your area have touch up paint? If you can't find that buy a can or two that look close then spray them on something else to see what they look like dry. I don't think you'll need an exact match because it won't be right next to the other paint, assuming your grille is not painted to match. I just used some red Duplicolor. I'm sure it's not an exact match but no one can tell.

Hey Guys, Just to double check and make sure I didn't miss anything...But the way my Manual shows it I need to remove the plastic cover on the radiator first then the headlights then the grill correct?

I didn't see another way to get to the bow tie without doing all this...
