License Plate Bracket?!

The parts guy at the Chevrolet dealer here, told me that Chevy never made a front plate bracket for the 00-06 tahoes? That I'm supposed to just drill holes? Surely he's mistaken bc I've seen brackets that look factory on many tahoes/silverados/yukons/sierras around town just since I left there. He's wrong right?

And I will just say this now but here in MO where I live it's best to have a front plate. So don't ask why I'm putting it on there. ;-)

My 03 came with 2 factory drilled holes and plastic nut inserts for the top license plate mounting holes...no bracket or backing plate though. BTW, it was purchased in KY...a state that does not require a front tag.

Missouri it is a law, and dealers actually can be fined if they don't offer a bracket/ or to drill holes. I just think it would look a little cleaner with a bracket. In Missouri though, if you're obeying every other law, they won't bug you about your front tag. But since my windows are dark I figured I'd comply to the front tag law. Tint is an $80 pop, every offense here.

I still have my OBS Tahoe. It's at the shop getting starter/alternator. I'll take the bracket off of it when I he it back.

+1 - No Bracket or backing plate on the '06 either. Just the two holes and plastic nut inserts as mentioned above.
