when replacing the license plate bulbs on a 2001 Yukon do I come at them from behind the bumper or can I pry off the chrome covers?

And if you want it *slightly* brighter, go with a 168 bulb (3 watt) versus a 194 bulb (2 watt).

so i have been rear ended by a drunk driver and it has pushed in my bumper on the right by a couple inches and consequently killed my license plate bulbs.
been pulled over at night for not having a visible plate. so i need to fix this asap.
can anyone tell me what to order? because im in the middle of nowhere and cant just pull in to the local autozone/napa and ask for someone to take a look. i would really appreciate some guidance on parts.
how easy/difficult is this to do after i have replacement bulbs?
