Big 3 helps a lot. It provides a more stable ground throughout the system. No you don't have to fuse the alt to battery wire

okay sweet, thanks a lot guys. Okay just to make sure, i attached the picture of my stock battery + going to the fuse then to the plus on the alternator. Now i would leave this all alone and connect 0ga from the battery plus straight to the positive on the alternator. Then also negative battery to chassis ground, and chassis ground to engine block. Am i understanding this correctly? Also for chassis ground im thinking of using the hood light ground, is that good or should i find a bigger bolt?

Thanks again!

There should be a Main Grounding Point on the actual Frame of the Truck. That is your Best Spot for the Engine & Battery Grounds.

Yes, leave the stock wiring and add onto it. Just run one 1/0 gauge wire from battery + to alt +, then run a wire from batt - to chassis, and engine to chassis.

Your stock alt should be sufficent for the ~1500 rms your running, do the big 3 and maybe put a second battery in the back. That'd be cheaper than a new alt. A GOOD new high output alt your looking at between 300-500 bucks. Ditch the cap, that could just put more of a strain on your electrical.
