Yea, capitalism at it's best. I like it. If someone does not want to be the buyer, they wait for a different rig or the price to come down. That is a sizeable mark up for sure but completely legal and may be done by 90% of us if we were in the same shoes. Good luck.
Just look at everyone selling their overpriced used vehicles because they can lol I even quoted my Yukon for ***** and giggles. Carvanna will buy it for more than I owe right now. But it’s not worth it to me

I hear ya! Sadly this is the current norm. Not just only in the auto industry, but everything, everywhere including real estate. I've seen folks dish 130K out of pocket to lock in a sale on an offer...
GM is expecting production to get much better come 2022. So let’s hope so.

A dealership was selling $5K over MSRP towards the beginning of June. A week ago MSRP no markup.

When I was stationed in Hawaii 1988-1993, dealers over there were charging several thousand over MSRP, calling it "Market Adjustment." Then as the internet started to grow, locals started to figure out they could buy a car in the mainland (from a bigger selection) and ship it via Matson for less than dealers were charging. Wasn't long before that "Market Adjustment" thing started to disappear. :Big Laugh: It's probably back now for a while though, since we're seeing it almost everywhere now.

The 1st time I ever saw this "Market Adjustment" was around 1987--Screenshot_20210629-231210_Samsung Internet.jpg
For a 1987 Buick GNX dealer wanted $25k over the MSRP. Back then I saw it as greed. Can't really compare apples to oranges--GNX to anything, but back then it was just a hyped up Buick. The average Joe didn't know, so it def was sticker shock.

The most impressive part about this, to me, is to have a pic that you could pull up and post from 34 years ago. That is half my age. But then again, I am easily amused and confused because, again, that is half my age.

It was posted maybe a few years ago. It's from #547--the last one. It was never prepped by the dealer, and I think it was going to auction(2017?)

How much would you ***** if you went to Wal-Mart and they charged you $6.99 for a bag of chips with $4.99 imprinted on the bag?
