A 2003 Dodge Cummins? So it still had the venerable 5.9? Another one of the great diesel engines. We have 4 of those engines in our fleet.. We are trying to sell 3 of them. You say that diesels are expensive, but mine was a $1500 discount on the Denali I bought. It is evidencing to be the very best choice for this vehicle. My 17 yr old Cummins I have done nothing to except change oil and fuel filters, in 17 years. Probably one of the most cost efficient vehicles I have ever owned.
My reference to "expensive" was to when they do break, they are expensive, I forgot a couple words there, my bad.
Seeing GM's history with diesel on light duty platforms, I forsee this being one of those 1-4 year productions, and they will axe it for cost savings.
As I said in this thread.. (and you replied to)
Considering Diesel
Haven't driven a 6.2 so i can't say. I've had similar motors in other GM vehicles and they're quite strong. I feel the Duramax is plenty at posted speeds, but once it's past 70 or so it's more leisurely. Hills are no problem either. None of the annoying shifting up and down to get up a grade...

The BM is a fantastic engine, designed exactly at the right time.. Just a matter of convincing the average Joe of that.
