What knock sensors did you buy?

Did you also replace the sub-harness?

I bought the AC Delco ones and yes replaced the harness. I also used RTV to seal the rubber covers and where the harness comes through.

I just replaced the 2 sensors and harness. Pics of old and new. Cleared the fault but it was a chore. More like a 4 to 5 hour job. Maybe have been shorter if I didn't spend so much time cleaning the engine block and intake.

AHHHH u just gave me a grim reminder of what imfore this weekend i gotta replace my intake manifold gasket but im greatful someone from the forum gave me a heads up to go ahead and replace my knock sensors while i have the manifold off

Best thing you can do. Is get than done while it's all out. Go slow. That's what I had to keep telling myself. The connectors for the fuel injectors are tricky. But I made sure to go in steps so I wouldn't funk it up. Like electrical connectors, mechanical, and fuel. Good luck be like woosa.

Yep! thats what my rear sensor looked like, nice and rusted. I am going to be redoing this sometime soon, the only thing I can think of is I still had some moisture in my rear bank and that caused these to foul. Make sure you get all the moisture out so you won't have to redo it again like me.....

1. Disconnect the two pin connector on top of the intake, it should have Blue wires.

2. Ohm each wire to ground (sensor side). They should have resistance between 93K-107K ohms for each wire.

3. If not in specification, remove the intake manifold and check the connections and wiring to the Knock Sensors (KS).

4. If they ohm tested OK, verify the wiring to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is not open or grounded. If OK tap on the exhaust manifold with an extension while monitoring the ac voltage produced by each sensor. If the sensor does not produce a good voltage compared to the other sensor, replace the lower output producing sensor.
