hey now, common sense plays a role here , most of the time its to see who can get to the speed limit faster remember 55mph may be the speed limit but there isant a limit on how fast you can get there

actually they can give you a ticket for aggressive acceleration or improper start from a stop.. adn about 5 other ways the write up the ticket if they deem it fit to stroke a ticket..

buddy pulled the front tires off the ground in his cobra.. didnt break 40 mph in a 55 and got a $500 ticket for "Gross display of raw horse power" the tires didnt even spin..

So I lost a race to my friends 04 Nissan Armada LE. :( We went off a light from 0~115mph. He beat me by a car length, maybe more. Was this supposed to happen? My 04 Denali is stock with 22" rims. His Armada is stock with 22" rims also. He has agree'd to a rematch but I want to know what low key stuff I can do to come out a winner this time. The idea is to appear as if I have not done anything to my truck on the next race, and win. With this truck I was not into making it faster...until I lost. :emotions122:

How old are you? REALLY??? You are not kidding here, are you? WTF? Who cares????

OMG, racing two SUV's and crying if you lost? GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If done under the right circumstances I don't see the problem with racing. We have a 1/4 and 1/8 mile track close to us that is open to anyone on certain nights. If someone enjoys a fast SUV why do you guys care? I get the whole "he's on a public street and endangering people" talk and AGREE, but if he does it right and at the right place who are you to judge? I enjoy driving fast and think it would be pretty awesome to go to the track and run a mustang down or keep up with a vette in a 6000lbs SUV that has the right mods.

In Utah, the OPs case is an automatic Street Racing (I believe the technical term is Exhibition of Speed). First offense minimum penalty is automatic impound, 6 month suspended license, and $1800 fine. You don't even need to be in a car for the ticket. Just spectating street racing is grounds for conviction.

No way you're doing this at a track if you're hitting 115 unless you have one suped up truck. At that much power I doubt it's streetable, so I have to call BS on this one.

If this had happened at a track I wouldn't be saying a thing.
