I posted on the wrong forum, moving it here:

Installed mud flaps and changed the serpentine belt on my ‘16 Yukon, figured that would cure the problem “chirp” at startup. Whether it’s cold or hot, it does it. Anybody have an idea as to what it could be? Thanks.
+ I walnut blasted my intake valves about 2-3 weeks ago, would that have anything to do with the chirp?

I recorded this video today, around the 4 second mark you can hear a chirp for a split second before the engine turns on.

Did you change the pulley tensioner assembly when you replaced the serpentine belt?

No I did not. Would you recommend changing it?

I think the noise is coming from this part, is this the water pump?

It is a good idea to change the tension assemblies when you change the belt (both, if you have 2 belts and 2 tensioners). They are spring powered, and the spring weakens over time.

Take the serpentine belt off and start the engine briefly and see if the noise goes away.

That’s the water pump pulley. Check for play on the pulley. It should be firm with no play at all. If indeed the noise is coming from there, the bearing may be failing for the pulley and it might be on its way out.

Also i agree with @Joseph Garcia that the tensioner should be changed when the belt is changed.. however I believe k2 only has one tensioner and 2 stretch belts if the same as my 2018.

Parts finally arrived today, the tensioner and water pump pulley will be replaced. Hopefully this will clear up the intermittent noise at start up.
It hasn't made the noise, I guess only when its humid and chilly in the mornings.

Well, the parts were swapped, but 2 bolts snapped while replacing the water pump pulley. The old one had a bit of play, and the new one does not although its missing two bolts, the play is less than before. Any tips on how to remove broken bolts from the engine block? Are the water pump bolts supposed to be replaced as well? I tried to torque them to 7 ft lbs with a torque wrench from HF but I think its not accurate below 10 ft lbs. I dont have pictures, but one bolt snapped almost all the way, and the other less than half.

Pictures attached.

I installed this part- can't tell if its real or not, but it didnt have a metal gasket. The material is like cotton or paper, would anyone recommend changing the gasket to a metal one? I wanted to use the old one but it was warped.

Would it be a bad idea to drive this thing like this? I don't want to get stranded on the road with my lady and our 1 yr old.

I drove to the gas station by myself last night, all seemed fine. Temp gauge climbed up quick but not alarmingly quick. Just seemed abnormal to me, unless the "heater burping" method boils the coolant and makes it reach operating temps faster?

I topped it off with distilled water at the gas station, let it idle for a bit, fueled up, then drove home with the heater on once again.

Surprisingly, everything in the engine compartment is quiet. Couldn't check for leaks as the plastic cover was soaked with coolant. I'll turn on the truck and check for leaks later today.

Anyways, any input is welcome.

Thanks.
