loud fan clutch - 2000 tahoe 5.3L

The fan clutch in my 2000 Tahoe 5.3L goes on as soon as i hit the gas, is this normal? The fan is quiet at idle, but as soon as i hit the gas it goes on, and its a loud fan. Is this normal with these cars or is the fan not working right?

Any Help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the fan clutch. Its bad.

thank you, can i go aftermarket with that or should i go with the gm stuff?

so i replaced the fan clutch, and this one is louder than the old one i had in there. It was an aftermarket fan clutch from advance auto,i am seriously thinking about returning it and getting a new one from the dealer. The temperature in the truck does not go up, its way under the middle(210), after replacing fan clutch started the car and it was cold out, the motor was cold, the temperature guage was all the way at the cold position, and fan clutch came on every time i hit the gas. The fan clutch then goes off when i take my foot off the gas.

mine stays on even after warm up, drove the car for a little while and it didn't change

The truck has power, and drives fine, but in my opinion it makes it sound like crap.
