My buddy bought a basically brand new 5.3 ( I think it had about 3,000 miles on it) for either $1000 or 1,500.

Im also interested in the swap since my 5.3 has 90k on it and if I come across a good deal on a 6.2 I would debate doing it..

I hope you aren't implying that 90k miles is nearing the end of its useful life.

Have youeverinstalled a supercharger? I'll bet pulling out the motor and dropping a new one in would be quicker than installing a supercharger

Nope. But I have done a couple motor swaps. A blower, intake, pulley and tune sounds better!

Hmmm 7k for a blower or 6k for a new 6.2 with a warranty..... Believe me, I've thought about a blower but it's not as reliable and just more money and more maintenance.

Good deal. Just not low enough miles for me. If I'm going used, I'd like the same or less miles than I have now. I have 15k now.

You are worried about money after spending big money on a new truck and want to rip out a motor with 15 on it?
