So we have a deep sea fishing trip to go on at the end of the month. Its only for two days but the dilemma is that im taking 6 people with me. As we all know the tunk space is a JOKE with the third row up.

I just dont know where to store these ice chest. Any ideas? roof?.... Looked into renting a larger suv but thats 700 for the weekend and just doesn't make sense.

Ive seen those hitch luggage things, has anyone had exp with them?

Thanks any ideas would help. Missing the suburban a whole lot right now....

Took 6 people in a pathfinder round trip from Florida to Virginia with luggage on it and it worked great. That was 4 years ago and still use it once or twice a year

I just completed a trip from Virginia, to Chicago, to Utah, and back to Chicago. I couldn't use a hitch mounted basket since I was towing my wife's car part of the way, so I went to Target and got a waterproof roof bag under the name Highland. I recommend it. It a great job keeping all but one item dry. But, to be fair, the moisture that managed to get in probably occurred when a went to the car wash and used a high pressure sprayer to help get rid of all the bugs I accumulated on my trip to Utah.

I did notice a lot of cars that were using hitch mounted baskets on my trip. Looked like they weren't having any problems either. If it had been an option for me, I likely would have used a hitch basket too. It would have helped save some fuel.

Wow that thing looks badass. Do you just wrap a tarp around your luggage after that?

you get a bag for it like this. It straps to the basket so it won't go anywhere

Was looking at some of the bags aswell but just didnt know if I should put a cooler on the top of my car and seal it in a huge bag. Hell idk if it would fit in the bag.

Im looking to have one built for the trip, like this one:
