My lurch has been pretty bad for the last week and I was throwing a Random Misfire CEL under wot. Today it seemed normal on my way to work but this afternoon it was jerking badly on my way home and I parked the truck for about 15 minutes to get some stuff with the engine off. Then i left again and the 3rd stop sign I took off and the truck stumbled and kinda sputtered out with the rpms dropping out. No engine light yet tho. Well made another trip and not even wide open throttle and the engine light came on. Any ideas at all? Gonna pull all the plugs, check all the wires for continuity, Pop the cap and inspect it and pull the dizzy if my dad will do it without messing up my timing. I literally have no idea what this is. It has never been this bad. I replaced the TPS just last weekend and its not that but it does seem to start better.

it was a P0300 code. Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire. It could be anything from ignition to computer to exhaust.

why don't you get a misfire history to narrow it down. and i would test the converters before just assuming they are the issue. you seriously need to stop messing around and get some professional testing help if you can't do it on your own.

theres an old mechanics trick of marking where it was and putting it back on that mark. my dad has done it for years and never had a timing issue.

true but did it need to come out? and if it did and something went wrong with orientation you would get a p1345 code.

Truck has gone to my mechanic so he can do diagnostics and troubleshooting with better equipment to try and give me a straight answer of what is wrong.
