so my normal mechanic guy was able to get the headers in. he had to make a decent sized dent around the steering shaft tho. the engine was also a bit off center, so he installed new mounts and now the car idles a lot nicer as well as being a bit more to the right so the header fit a bit easier. i believe its still rubbing on the shaft a little bit, as there is a ring, so ill see if the indent gets worse later on. other than that, the truck feels great, and it has a lot more low end power. instead of blocking the EGR, he just unhooked them from the electronics, and when i get a change to go visit Black Bear to get the engine lights taken care of and both systems turned off, im gonna just have him remove the EGR and air injection modules altogether.

i also recently blacked out my stocker rims and the chrome trim with plastidip, go ahead and make fun, i think it looks good.

that rubbing will eventually make a hole that will be costly to repair..

it might have been there when they were originally trying to fit it, and during testing to see how much more they had to dent in. im definitely gonna keep an eye on it

yea i would be careful with your steering link on top of the header like that... to much torque from the motor could take out that link and youd ave some big trouble on your hands.

Also looks like the wires are damnnn close to the headers. Really need to get some heatshields on those things.

Also by denting the tube, your putting restriction on the tube and on that cylinder. keep an eye on it.

i did thing with the marker and it is rubbing. im gonna take it back tomorrow. my mech said the new mounts settled, so its touching now. hes gonna have to dent it more. and Travieso, they are the right ones. my truck is just a super tight fit sadly... hopefully this is the last time ill have trouble with it. these headers seem like more trouble than theyre worth at the moment...

well its going to drive like SHIT until the tune. Its probably running RICH now. The tuner will lean it out for the free flowing exhaust, and you will surely feel a HUGE difference. Turn off the EGR lights / electronics etc. And make sure physically that the intake and everything else is plugged up properly.

That mechanic seems to do better work, I just dont understand why the 1st shop could not do it. You seen my clearance, so yes its a tight fit, But it will be worth it after you get it TUNED.

hopefully tomorrows visit to my guy is the last ill have to go to him with header problems. so far (for me) LPP has been less than exciting to deal with. they NEVER replied to my emails about fitment issues, and the decals i ordered from them never came, so i placed another order just for decals. i sincerely hope i can get them fit properly and that it wont hurt that cylinder's performance like atomichoe said. im really stressed out about it, i dont really wanna go back to stock cuz then im out like $1k in parts and labor!
