I replaced the fuel pump, but now I have a CEL and the fuel gauge shows empty. I let my buddy that did the exhaust borrow my tech2 until Friday, just my luck. I'll use my Blackbear device in the morning to scan the code. This fuel tank fought tooth and nail to get out, OMG it was the worst!!!
What brand fuel pump did you go with? The fuel level sender is part of the pump assembly along with the FPR and filter. Also, did you make sure to get the arm for the float locked in place?I replaced the fuel pump, but now I have a CEL and the fuel gauge shows empty. Oh crap. Why did you do it inside the tank? I have always done that outside the tank, then maneuvered it through the hole and into the tank.P0463, I'm thinking when we had to hook up the hose inside the tank and get the float in, must have jammed it up. In any case, I'm dropping the tank again tonight.
At least it’s fixed! But yeah that must have sucked. It wasn't the float positioning after all. So the new OEM fuel pump didn't come with a new float, we swapped the one from the old one over BUT, being so late and I was tired, I didn't have one of the 2 wires clipped in the whole way. They are itty, bitty wire connectors that look like they break easy. Once we got that wire clipped in, everything is ok. Damn though, dropping the tank 2 nights in a row sucked... Lessons learned
