keep the RESONATOR IN by all means it will get rid of the drone. I allways go with the magnaflow 4x9x14 muffler (like 80 bucks on ebay) and replace the big factory one and comes out perfect. No drone and sounds great.

now if you do that muffler and take resonator off it will drone.

another set up which i use alot is ditching the stock factory resonator and running the 5x8x30 magnaflow muffler or the 5x8x24 magnaflow muffler both of those set ups are good if you want to ditch the resonator.

^ I believe Sophmore wants to keep the stock muffler and just do the resonator delete. With that set-up it will sound a little more aggresive (not loud), and will not have any droning (as posted by other members - stock muffler w/ resontor delete).

I agree, Magnaflow without the resonator will have drone from 2,500 to 3,000 rpm depending on throttle application. I have that setup and actually like it :).

sound wise taking resonator out and keeping stock muffler doesnt sound as good as keeping the resonator in and using the 4x9x14 magnaflow.

Whatever he chooses will sound better than now.

I have to disagree. Keeping that ugly resonator makes it very hard to find a good looking tip. I was very happy with how it sounded without the resonator and just the tip. Also, the 14" Magnaflow is not the muffler to use from my experience. I prefer to run without the resonator and the 22" Magnaflow and the sound is perfect.

its all up to the person. I kept resonator in my wifes truck cause i did y pipe and i can still play off its a stock muffler at the street races while i run 12s on it lol but thats a different truck.

honestly the set up i like running is getting rid of the rear resonator and putting a 3.5 tip on it and doing the 5x8x30 magnaflow muffler replacing stock.

flowmaster and spintech man i didnt like those at all 3 borla ones i did sounded ok. But hands down using the above set up with the 5x8x30 sounded good. also going from a 4x9x14 with a resonator to without is a major change. most of my customers are older guys that are over the i want it loud sound. With rear resonator deleted 3.5 tip and magnaflow 5x8x30 its a nice sound not loud inside. stepping to the 4x9x18 muffler (24 overall length) and no resonator in 6 trucks was to loud also. going with the 5x8 case proves for a nice sound and no drone inside.

anything else just hollar guys.

get a dump. theyre inexpensive and are great because you can switch back and forth from sounding stock and sounding really aggressive. plus then you dont have to have any ugly tips coming out of your car. I just cant stand the way muffler tips look. it just makes it look like its not stock and i dont really like that.
