Are you concerned something is wrong with the engine? E.g. running too rich/lean?
If not why worry about it. Let's say you were getting 15 instead of 12. That saves you about $90/month. You're driving an $80k car and you're worried about $90/month?

My '05 Denali XL is about 18 at the same conditions...

A boat and a jet ski are not the same thing. Jet skis always consume a lot of fuel. A lot compared to boats))

I have a 2023 Yukon Denali with the 6.2. I'm about 400 miles in and am getting 12MPG.. about 1/2 my miles are at around 50 MPH, the others are surface streets. what are others experiencing?

When I first picked up my 2022 Yukon Denali, highway driving at 75 MPH provided about 13 MPG. After about 3,000 miles I now get 20-22 MPG at 80 MPH. We took a trip were we drove for quite a few miles along the Lake Superior shoreline (no hills) and the mileage registered 26 MPG at a steady 50 MPH with the cruise set. The 6.2L makes great power but mileage is directly proportional to what happens with throttle activity.

well I am mostly curious. I love the rig, just checking on it. But would I worry about $90/month..? yes I probably would. Not going to lose sleep over it, but would probably look into it if it averaged 12 MPG.

Sure, the thing to worry about is... are the systems and controls working within designed parameters. The MPG will be what it is. E.g. if I drive very carefully on a long trip 65-70ish I can squeeze 20-21 out of my old 2006 Tahoe. That falls within the advertised performance so I guess things are working propertly.
