I would like to upgrade my muffler with something more performance oriented but I dont want ANYTHING even remotely loud. Is it possible for a muffler to flow but the sound decible doesnt increase by much?

I've had my Magnaflow 12589 on for about a week and a half now and love it. It's got a rumble upon acceleration but at idle there's very little difference in sound compared to stock (at least right now before it's fully broken in). It's been great cuz there's no drone. I think anytime you go away from a stock muffler you'll have to expect a change in exhaust note, though.

Open headers will make your ears bleed!! I ran open headers on my truck on my way to the muffler shop and it took the rest of the day for my ears to return to 'normal'....
