My 98 stalls when going to reverse

Please help only stalls when changing gears from d to r?? Then hard to turn over

so stalls in reverse then you put it in what position to start? and no issues at all if you put in park or neutral from drive and restart by choice?

Yes sir! Shuts off when going from park to rev also

I had this issue a while back never figured out what was doing it but ended up replacing the spider injector for another issue and it cleared it up

well if it stalls in a sputtering way then maybe fuel related but if not i might think the ignition switch or wires are getting bumped loose in the column or or some how the the torque converter clutch is getting activated. try disconnecting the brake pedal switch to see if it still does it. that would isolate the clutch as the cause. really got me thinking the problem is in the column tho.
