Pay the extra $ to get the TBN #. It will tell you if the additive pkg of the oil is used up or not and if it is time to change the oil or not. I personally don't like a TBN # below 2.0.

Yeah, I thought about it. I use high milage and change roughly 5k, so I just assume it's fine. Maybe I'll do it this next time for kicks.

Thought about that but have noticed that the motor runs so much better with clean oil even after 5,000 miles. So the next change will be done at 4K and sample sent off. Well, maybe it's not a bad idea to that TBN test too next time around.

Based on my numbers and Blackstone advice, I went the other way. From 4100 to 5300. He said go higher. I'm not.

Just be patient. It takes them forever because they mistake it for hazardous sometimes. There's an FAQ all about shopping on Blackstone site. Mine have been 4-6 weeks.

Wow... it's been 3 weeks already and I thought that was excessive.

I payed for the TBN.... if my oil ever gets there... lol

I think I'm just nervous/excited because it's my first time...;)

Just thought I would post my Blackstone report in here as well...

Also a close up of the TBN report...

The thing I noticed is the Insolubles % is very low which if I am interpreting it correctly means that my upgraded filter system seems to be working well.

Keep in mind that this is on a 13,000 mile oil change so that is more the twice the miles of their "average" test vehicles base numbers.

Here is some good reading on the results of these reports...
https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/engine-oil-analysis/

It gives a breakdown of each line and what the potential reasoning is for the numbers.

The only one I'm not sure about is my Fuel %...

It shows "TR" anybody know what that means?

It means trace amounts. He refers to it in the comments, too. Mine was <0.5, and my insoluble was 0.2.
